Meghan Markle reportedly ended her longtime friendship with British Vogue editor-in-chief Edward Enninful when he decided not to feature her on the cover of the magazine in 2022.

In 2022, Enninful supposedly planned to center Markle on the September edition of the magazine, with a piece spotlighting her charity work and her keynote appearance at the One Young World Summit in Manchester, England.

However, the feature was immediately nixed following a heated argument between the two when they were unable to agree on how to present Markle's philanthropy.

An inside source told The Daily Mail, "The Duchess and her team had high expectations and were expecting she might get a print cover or at least a digital cover out of it, but Enninful was not able to meet those expectations…He already had a magazine cover in the bag for that month."

"Edward was furious to have lost the project, as were the powers that be at Condé Nast…the whole process became very difficult. Edward could only promise her a big showy feature inside the magazine and online – but she turned it down," a source said.
