Emmerdale star Martelle Edinborough has cryptically lifted the lid on her character's exit from the long-running soap and the reason for her departure. The actress joined the cast in 2022 as event planner Suzy Merton and instantly became a fan favourite, but after three years, the character met her untimely demise.
Alongside a professional photo of herself, the actress penned: "Some doors close cos your spirit outgrew the room."
Edinborough was inundated with support from viewers who demanded her return to screens and insisted that bosses made a mistake.
Another echoed: "Hope many doors open for you Martelle! Gutted about Suzy on Emmerdale really wanted to see her get with Mary. Best of luck for the future."

This comes after Edinborough confirmed her ITV soap journey had come to an end as she shared: "And just like that...Suzy is no more and a new chapter begins! What an ep!
