Up at The 02 is an outdoor climb that takes you across the iconic roof of the 02 arena, which offers panoramic views of east London.

At the summit, climbers can step inside a wintry snow globe with twinkling Christmas trees and billowing snow for an Instagram -worthy picture.

While the highest snow globe in the UK is only open until January 5, 2025, Up at The 02 has been running since 2012.

Throughout the years, countless visitors have completed the climb, including British Bake Off 's former host, Sandi Toksvig , so after some convincing, my mum agreed to try out the experience with me.

My mum, who is uneasy about heights, may not have been the ideal companion for the climb, but I, perhaps foolhardy, believed it would be good way to stretch her comfort zone.

After entering the check-in area (which would benefit from better signage outside for first-time visitors), we signed our safety waivers, watched a short instructional video and were introduced to our climbing guide.

Our exceptional guide – who was super helpful from start from finish – was professional, insightful and amazingly patient.

All ready in our climbing jackets and harness, which were provided, my top tips would be to wear a short warm coat underneath and your own gloves.

People who wore long coats – including my mum – had to take them off to not interfere with the safety of the walk.

New research commissioned by UserTesting has found that the rise in brands and retailers charging for returns is driving consumers elsewhere.

Four in five consumers stated in the survey that they would shop elsewhere if a retailer began charging for returns, with 63 percent of Brits adding that they would also be more likely to shop in a physical store than online if a retailer added return charges.

Commenting on the results, Jo Hagan, senior solutions consultant, EMEA, at UserTesting, said in a statement: "There's no doubt the rise in retailers charging customers to return items is delivering an incredibly negative perception towards these brands. A vice principal at a top London state school has been struck off after lying about a degree on his CV and faking invoices for the school prom.

Elkas Mohammed, the former vice principal at highly-performing Brampton Manor Academy in east London, was barred from the profession after a misconduct panel heard how he lied about attending Lancaster University on his CV and falsely claimed invoices for a DJ, memorabilia and food at the school's Year 11 prom.

A Teaching Regulation Agency misconduct panel heard how Mr Mohammed submitted fake invoices in 2019 for £1,550 of end-of-year memorabilia, £250 for a photo booth and sweets cart, £650 for a DJ and £1,425 for food for an international cultural diversity event.

He was rumbled after another person spoke to the DJ, who confirmed the invoice was not theirs, and he later admitted that he had faked the sweets and photo booth invoice.

It found: "The panel considered the number of occasions and the period when Mr Mohammed provided the false information.

Though he claims to have moved on and started a new relationship with Amelia Spencer ( Daisy Campbell ), Belle knows this is just for show and Tom will use Amelia to get at her. 

This proves to be horrifically correct in upcoming episodes as Tom finds a new way to mess with Belle's head. James Chase told us what happens. 

'Tom deliberately takes a top of Belle's, it's a pale blue jumper and he has given it to Amelia,' he said.

When Belle sees Amelia wearing her top, she demands to know how she got it. Amelia is mystified, as she believes that the top is new and was a gift from Tom. Leyla Harding (Roxy Shahidi) witnesses this confrontation and both she and Amelia think Belle is acting in an unhinged way. 

This is Tom's plan. 'He knows he's grinding her down when he knows she's seen Amelia in her clothes,' James said. 'He always has a plan, trying to scare Belle, manipulating those he can. He's got something up his sleeve because he has to if he wants to get out of this situation on top.

Although it seems that Tom is currently very much in a corner with no real friends left in the village, James observed that that's when his character is at his most dangerous. 

'I think in a weird way Tom does thrive under pressure as he is used to being in the corner, it's like he is a trapped animal in the corner trying to fight his way out. I think in a weird way he enjoys it – as he gets an energy from it and feels quite invigorated and proud of himself when he does succeed in talking himself out of these scenarios.

'There is definitely a small portion of doubt in the back of his mind, because the walls are starting to close in on him.' 

We'll see the pressure start to build on Tom in the coming days as his plan backfires when Amelia starts to question whether the blue top really belonged to Belle.

THE boss of Lidl has warned that food prices will inevitably rise after the Budget's tax raid added huge costs for retailers.

Ryan McDonnell, Lidl chief executive, said that the discount supermarket was facing "tens of millions of pounds" in extra costs after the Chancellor hiked employers' national insurance contributions.

Analysts have previously estimated Lidl faces a hit of at least £50 million, which Lidl did not dispute.

Mr McDonnell told The Sun: "We are talking about £7 billion for the whole industry. For us it will be tens of millions. With all that cost pressure there will be greater inflationary cost pressures."

Lidl was one of 80 big retailers to sign a letter to the Chancellor this week warning her that the Budget would result in job losses, store closures and inflation .

It comes as fresh figures today, Wednesday 20, show that inflation has already ticked up by more than expected to 2.3 per cent from 1.7 per cent in September.

The Lidl boss said the discount supermarket would invest to make sure it was still offering lower prices than its rivasl.

Emmerdale fans have been left baffled after heading to ITVX for their latest dose of drama from the Yorkshire Dales to find tonight's episode is missing from the streaming service.

Desperately worried about Moira and unable to cope with what might happen if the surgery went badly, Cain hit self-destruct mode.

But it wasn't only drunken fighting that Cain got up to, becasue he also had a confrontation with his brother Caleb's wife, Ruby Fox-Miligan which quickly took a shocking turn. Ruby told Cain to go and be with Moira after she found him hiding out at the garage, however, the tension between them soon turned to unexpected passion and they slept together.

That very public debate, incidentally, has irritated senior figures in the West, who have felt privately that that has made their decision making harder, risked provoking Russia and given Moscow time to prepare.

We're into the first full week of the Canada Post workers strike and local business owners are starting to get a sense of the impact to their operations.

The London Chamber of Commerce leadership says to this point, they haven't heard many concerns or requests for support from small business owners.

Kristen Duever is Chief Operating Officer for the Chamber, ⁘They've had a couple weeks to prepare, to reach out to their, customers, clients, suppliers -- to try to do things digitally, try to choose other courier services or parcel services, if needed.⁘

Duever said that doesn't mean it's clear sailing for everyone. On Monday morning she heard from a business owner she couldn't identify, who was looking for guidance because they needed a specific security clearance for their business.

These are complicating factors some businesses may run into, ⁘If they need RCMP clearance or are waiting for passports to travel. Those are all done through Canada Post as well. So, any businesses dealing with those specific issues are definitely being impacted.⁘

Duever says the pandemic helped many business owners and customers get over their concerns about doing transactions online. She told CTV News it pushed people to adopt new technologies and new ways of doing things they weren't comfortable with previously.

Duever points to her own reality. She says she sends and receives fewer Christmas cards than she once did. She says more people will share Christmas greetings via video conferencing or with an e-card.

Snowy conditions described as ⁘the first taste of winter⁘ have caused train cancellations and road delays in parts of the UK after severe weather warnings were issued.

The Met Office put three yellow warnings for snow and ice in place in the North, the Midlands, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland - advising that vehicles could be stranded, power cuts may occur and rural areas could be cut off.

The yellow warning for England has been issued until 11am and the warning for Scotland will remain in place until 10am on Wednesday.

The UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) has issued the first amber cold weather health alert of the season, warning conditions could be dangerous for vulnerable people, including the elderly.

The amber warning covers the east and north of England, the Midlands, and Yorkshire and the Humber, with yellow alerts coming into place for the South East, South West and London at 8am on Tuesday, lasting until 6pm on Saturday.

National Rail warned the cold climate would affect various routes on northern train services until at least 2pm on Tuesday.

The Met Office said: ⁘A period of rain, sleet and snow will occur during Monday night and into Tuesday morning.
