Tyreek Hill Racing IShowSpeed

Image Read more: Found here

It looks like Tyreek Hill might be putting his "Cheetah" nickname and 99 speed rating in Madden 25 to the test.

Popular YouTuber IShowSpeed announced on a stream Tuesday that he would race the Miami Dolphins star Thursday. The streamer from Cincinnati said he was in the same city as Hill, who is at the Dolphins' preseason training camp in Miami Gardens, Florida.

The 19-year-old likes his chances , at least, challenging Hill to a race after meeting him in February and stating in another that his 40 time was slower than Hill's only because he wasn't wearing cleats and had to slow down at the end of his run.

But Speed would be an obvious underdog to Hill, who led the NFL with 1,799 receiving yards and tied for the lead with 13 receiving touchdowns in 2023. The man known as "Cheetah" is considered by many NFL experts as the fastest player in the NFL, though he certainly has plenty of competition from his Dolphins teammates .

All things Dolphins: Latest Miami Dolphins news, schedule, roster, stats, injury updates and more.

Watkins is most known for eccentric behavior during his streams that can get aggressive, shouting at or getting physical with the games he's playing or the people he's playing with or against. He was banned from the streaming platform Twitch in 2021 for misogynist comments he made during an e-dating stream. He had been making videos with British sports broadcaster Sky Sports around the 2022 World Cup, but his videos were taken down after the comments resurfaced.

Does Speed have a chance against Cheetah? According to a YouTube short, Watkins ran a 4.44-second 40-yard dash at the NFL Combine fan experience.

That's pretty good, but it's not in the top tier of NFL speed. The fastest 40 time at the actual NFL Combine was set in April by current Kansas City Chiefs receiver Xavier Worthy, who ran it in 4.21 seconds.

Watch North London Card Machine Fraudsters Use Sneaky Tactics To Steal Thousands

Image Read more: Found here

A North London man who stole thousands from small businesses by using the card machines to make refunds rather than make payments is wanted by police. Omar Said-Baker, 30, from Brent, admitted conspiring to commit fraud with accomplices Abdullah Said-Ahmed, 29 and Tahir Mohammed, 30, both also of Brent but failed to turn up to his sentence at Bristol Crown Court.

The fraud gang told shop workers they needed to enter the pin on the card machine when asked to pay for goods. But instead of punching in their PIN, they used a card to make refunds to different bank accounts.

The trio was caught after police stopped a car using false number plates on the M4 and discovered expensive clothing, and multiple credit and debit cards in Said-Baker's name.

Further investigation linked the men to the fund scam and CCTV was recovered which showed how at least one of the men would distract the shop worker while refunds were carried out. A small number of businesses in Bristol's Cabot Circus shopping area, and the surrounding area, were targeted between February and March 2019, stealing thousands of pounds.

Said-Ahmed was given a 14-month prison sentence, suspended for 18 months and must carry out 150 hours of unpaid work while Mohammed was jailed for 23 months, suspended for 18 months and must do 200 hours of unpaid work. A warrant has also been issued for Said-Baker after his court no-show.

Detective Sergeant Louise Sinclair, from our Complex Fraud Team, said: "These three men brazenly stole thousands of pounds from small shops and cafés. On one occasion, they refunded more than £5,000 from an independent café.

"I hope this investigation reassures small business owners that no matter how complex an investigation might be, we will do everything we can to ensure those who harm people's livelihoods will be held to account.

"I also hope this case reminds shop workers of the need to be vigilant, to not allow customers to handle PDQ machines and the importance of reporting suspicious behaviour or criminality to us."

Later in the week, newly-single Hope visits Dr Gadass wanting to go on the pill to which the doctor gives her condoms and urges her to talk to her family. How will Fiz and Tyrone Dobbs react to the bombshell? However, this isn't the only worry for Fiz as she is left stunned next week over a surprise return .

Next week, Fiz is left floored when she bumps into husband Tyrone's ex Alina Pop in Fresco's car park. Soap fans will recall that Alina, played by Ruxandra Porojnicu, was last seen on the cobbles back in 2021, where she fled the cobbles to Romania and hinted at a secret pregnancy with Tyrone's baby.

Alina left Weatherfield after discovering that Tyrone had lied to her and even kissed his then ex Fiz. After discovering that she was pregnant, Tyrone quickly rushed after Alina where he was able to talk to her before she departed the cobbles in a taxi.

The character said: ⁘It can't happen because there is no baby. There never was. I've got my dates wrong, I thought I was pregnant but I wasn't. So there's no reason for you to be here, no reason at all...⁘ However, at the end of the episode, it appeared that Alina had been lying as she tenderly cradled her stomach and refused an alcoholic beverage, hinting she was in fact pregnant.

In scenes next week, upon Fiz seeing her husband's ex, Alina explains she's been called as a witness in a trial but will Fiz tell Tyrone about her encounter? Meanwhile, later at the cab office, Tyrone's mum Cassie Plummer's eyes widen as she sees a customer's name on an airport booking.

The first installment (due by midnight on 31 January each year) is referred to as a 'balancing payment', and covers what's left of the previous year's tax bill. The second is an advance payment for the next year's tax bill and is due by 31 July.

Worse, failure to make a payment on time could also give HMRC an excuse to launch a lengthy – and potentially expensive – tax investigation.

Qdos CEO, Seb Maley, said, "Payments on account' are how the majority of the self-employed sort their tax bill out, and the system gives people a bit more flexibility around their tax affairs.

"The good news is that these scenarios are avoidable – you just have to pay on time. If your liability is difficult to calculate, or your income has changed and your bill is different from HMRC's forecast, all is not lost.

Saucy! Secrets Of The British Sex Comedy Review: The Funny Side Of A Blizzard Of Bare Bums – The Irish...

The genre was instantly successful, as we hear early in the enjoyable Saucy! Secrets of the British Sex Industry (Channel 4, Sunday, 9pm), with one contributor recalling how Adventures of a Taxi Driver – a blizzard of bare bums and knob gags – made more at the UK box office in 1976 than Martin Scorsese's Taxi Driver.

A more sober documentary would have used the sex comedy as a starting point for a deep dive into the British psyche. But Saucy! is here to celebrate, not to stroke its chin. With one or two caveats, the message is that the slap-and-tickle flicks of the 1970s represented a glorious moment in UK cinema.

More Long Islanders Are Embracing 'Bleisure' On Their Business Trips

When Bert Lurch goes on a business trip to New Delhi in November, he plans first to spend a couple of days hanging out in Dubai.

⁘I hear some hotels give extreme discounts because they know people [on their way to New Delhi] like to stop in Dubai,⁘ said the 50-year-old Elmont resident. ⁘I've heard a lot about Dubai, and I'd like to take in the culture. I plan to visit any tourist-related areas there.⁘

Lurch, owner of the E Central Medical Management medical billing company in New Hyde Park, might even take someone with him.

⁘I may bring a friend who's been a consultant with the company for about 15 years,⁘ Lurch said. ⁘Because I'm so time-restricted, I think it's important for me to blend in some leisure if I'm going on a business trip. I don't have the opportunity to take two one-week vacations.⁘

Lurch is among an increasing number of working people doing ⁘bleisure⁘ travel — the term is a fusion of the words ⁘business⁘ and ⁘leisure.⁘ Typically they're adding time at the beginning or end of a business trip for leisure activities, or they might travel to a destination for business, and then extend their stay to work remotely for perhaps weeks.

Others might add an unplanned bleisure element to their business trip. This type of travel is budget-friendly too, since the cost of getting the business person to the business destination is paid by the company or employer.

⁘The concept of bleisure travel has been around for years — probably since the very first business traveler decided to add a weekend stay after attending a conference or event, but it underwent a renaissance during the pandemic,⁘ explained Debbie Iannaci, vice president of communications and research for the Global Business Travel Association (GBTA). ⁘The combination of increased flexibility in work locations, work-from-home fatigue and rethinking priorities, has resulted in greater desire for blended travel and there is more opportunity to have that occur.⁘

In a letter they said ambulances should not wait outside emergency departments more than 30 minutes before offloading patients.

Downing Street said the alert was being treated as a national emergency. Officials met on Friday and will meet again during the weekend to discuss the response.

Emmerdale's Belle Star Totally Unrecognisable In First Ever Soap Appearance Aged Seven - Mirror...

Image More details: Found here

This week's episodes of Emmerdale had fans on their feet cheering as fan-favourite Belle Dingle, portrayed by Eden Taylor-Draper , announced her departure from her oppressive hubby Tom King.

A flashback to 2005 shows feisty Belle facing repercussions for causing chaos at school when she starts a fight, subsequently getting a harsh talking-to from her dad.

Perched in the Dingles' trusty van, a fiery Belle vents about a bully taunting her at school, angrily saying: ⁘She kept calling me! She keeps coming up behind me and pulling my hair going, 'Ding dong' like it's supposed to be funny!⁘

Her dad Zak cautions her, gruffly reminding her: ⁘You can't go round thumping folk!⁘ to which Belle defiantly responds: ⁘Cain does it!⁘, reports the Express .

Trouble follows Belle home as she faces her mum Lisa's wrath over the brawl, ending up slaving away at the dishes while her brother Sam and his wife Alice bear witness. The storyline cleverly explains Belle's absence from earlier episodes she was supposedly caring for Granny Clegg, but it also served to age the character without recasting the role.

It was a proud family moment when Eden clinched the accolade for best performance by a young actor at the British Soap Awards in 2007; nevertheless, her mother Niki maintained a level head amidst the excitement.

Pensions Fintech Startup Raises $2.3m In VC Funding For Growth

Image Reference: See here

Founded in 2022, Jarvis allows employees to visualize, manage, and invest in both personal and workplace pensions in different "jars." Users can plan for retirement using tools around their goals and budgets and also consolidate existing pension contributions.

Jarvis lets users with existing workplace pensions transfer their holdings to the platform, offering pre-made or custom investment options for auto-enrolled employees or self-invested personal pensions (SIPPs) in the UK.

The startup has raised $2.3 million in seed funding in a round co-led by Ascension VC and Cornerstone VC, with participation from Tokio Marine Future Fund.

"Fundraising was interesting, it took slightly longer than we expected but we had support from our existing investors," Greaves added. "It's good to go through a good level of rigor and diligence because I firmly believe the best businesses are built in economically challenged conditions."

Funding will go toward growing Jarvis's "small but mighty" group of people, with the team set to grow from six to 10 people. Similarly, funding will go toward R⁘D as the company grows its product offering.

The Bill Actress Gabrielle Glaister Reveals Stars' Shocking Salary 14 Years After Axing - Mirror...

The Bill star Gabrielle Glaister has revealed the shocking amount of money earnt by actors more than a decade after the crime drama's axing.

ITV culled the cult classic in August 2010, with episodes only now being seen during re-runs. With archived instalments very rarely making it on the telly, legendary show stars aren't making much, with Gabrielle detailing the truly unbelievable amount she 'rakes in'.

⁘I earned £1.88 from a repeat of The Bill today,⁘ she posted on X, formally Twitter . She played PC Dave Quinnan's ex-wife Jenny Marton in the programme and fans couldn't comprehend why they'd make hardly anything after the show's storming success.

⁘Raking it in there lol! Tell them to repeat it on a loop you could earn loads,⁘ commented one follower, to which she simply replied: ⁘Yes.⁘ Another asked if the less than £2 payment was before tax, but she confirmed it was the amount due after paying her taxes.

It was during the pandemic that The Bill made the most re-runs. The show, which aired 26 series between 1984 and 2010, followed the fictional stories of The Metropolitan Police force and introduced us to iconic characters that dominated the TV landscape.

The popular crime drama returned on the streaming service UK TV Play. Despite running for an impressive 27 years, The Bill was cancelled by ITV after a format change failed to boost its once soaring ratings. The show's ratings took a hit when it was revamped and moved to a later 9pm slot in 2009, also being reduced from airing twice a week to just once.

Initially, The Bill, set in the fictional London area of Sun Hill, had only 12 hour-long standalone episodes but by 1988 the programme switched to three half-hour shows a week. A decade later, the drama, which gave us well-loved characters like June Ackland, Reg Hollis and Jim Carver, returned to 60-minute shows.

London Pulls Off Lows As Private Sector Perks Up

Image More details: See here

(Alliance News) - Stocks in London remained in the red at midday, but outperformed their European peers, as a pick up in UK private sector growth helped offset underwhelming earnings.

Disappointing tech earnings in the US, were followed by lacklustre numbers from LVMH and Deutsche Bank, amongst others, prompting investors to cash in some recent gains.

The FTSE 100 index traded 13.83 points lower, or 0.2%, at 8,154.04. The FTSE 250 was down 58.02 points, 0.3%, at 21,033.47, while the AIM All-Share was down 1.34 points, 0.2%, at 788.83.

The Cboe UK 100 was down 0.1% at 814.04, the Cboe UK 250 was little changed at 18387.51, and the Cboe Small Companies was also flat at 17,244.12.

Kathleen Brooks, research director at XTB, said it is "hard to see how the rally in markets can continue for now after several weaker than expected earnings reports including Tesla, LVMH and [UPS], have led to concerns that stocks will fail to deliver the boost to earnings that would spur the next leg of the rally."

"The slip in corporate earnings from the likes of Tesla and Google, which failed to set the market alight with its AI investments, suggests that the fundamental basis for a rally is slipping away as we reach the peak summer months."

After hours in New York, Google owner Alphabet fell 3.4%, while electric carmaker Tesla slid 7.8%.

Tesla missed Wall Street profit estimates in the second quarter as it repeated guidance that vehicle growth in 2024 would be "notably lower" than 2023. Alphabet highlighted "ongoing strength" in its Search segment, as well as "momentum" in Cloud, after seeing both revenue and net income climb in the second quarter.

On Tuesday, shares in United Parcel Service, often viewed as economic bellwether for the US economy slumped 12% after it lowered guidance.

ITV Coronation Street Fans Distracted By 'Odd' Lauren Bolton And Joel Detail

Image Reference: See here

Coronation Street fans were left distracted as they spotted an 'odd' detail about villain Joel Deering and Lauren Bolton on Monday night.

On Friday's episode, Lauren lied to DS Swain, pretending it was Nathan but she wanted to drop charges. Later, Joel paid for a hotel for Lauren to stay in but soon had bad news. Joel revealed that his ex-wife Emily wanted half of his money in the divorce and her lawyers were making him submit bank statements for the last 12 months. Joel pointed out he couldn't have anything dodgy on record and took Lauren to a flat, saying she could stay at the empty property until arranging travel to Ireland for her.

On Monday night, Joel was left concerned as he learnt Dee-Dee's family wanted to help him move a chest of drawers from his old flat, where he's hiding Lauren. In a bid to get Lauren out the flat, Joel handed her a wad of cash to go shopping. However, the solicitor was left panicked when Lauren didn't return and instead came back to the flat much later than planned, leaving him furious.

LONDON (Reuters) -British retail sales volumes fell by more than expected in June, after unseasonably cooler weather put off shoppers, official figures showed on Friday.

Sales volumes dropped by 1.2% last month after a 2.9% jump in May, the Office for National Statistics said.

A Reuters poll of economists had on average forecast sales volumes would drop by 0.4% on the month.

While wages are now rising more quickly than inflation, British shoppers have been squeezed by high inflation over the past two years. It has slowed recently and held at the Bank of England's 2% target last month.

However, underlying inflation pressures have diminished hopes among investors for an interest rate cut on Aug. 1, the date of the BoE's next scheduled monetary policy announcement.

Lisa Hooker, PWC's leader of industry for consumer markets, said, shoppers were still reluctant to spend despite the fall in inflation, wage increases and lower social security contributions.

⁘It appears that the cooler, wetter weather over spring and early summer, combined with longer term uncertainty in the period prior to the general election, has discouraged shoppers from both buying seasonal goods and making longer-term big ticket purchases,⁘ Hooker said.

Recent reports from retailers have also shown the impact of June's poor weather on discretionary spending.

Hollyoaks' Lucy-Jo Hudson Breaks Down In Tears As She Admits She's Struggling To Cope - Mirror...

Hollyoaks star Lucy-Jo Hudson shared an emotional post over the weekend, revealing she's been struggling after a tough week.

Candidly reflecting on the trials of motherhood on Sunday, Lucy-Jo told her fans on Instagram that Carter's behaviour has been challenging lately. Sharing a picture of herself smiling and another crying, she wrote: 'This is me and this is also me.

⁘I don't usually post things like this... But when I mentioned my 'emotional' week on my stories, I received so many messages from you all saying how much you can relate. This week has been hard, I've really not coped well... I've had a lot of work on, followed by a lot of sleepless nights (with Carter not being 100%) that has then led to him being really challenging.⁘

The mum-of-two continued: ⁘And there's a lot of times that I've been able to cope with him and his behaviour, but this week... it just broke me. Being a parent is the most rewarding job in the world , but also one of the hardest. It's ok to have a cry, it's ok to not cope, we're human and all have limits... and being a working mum in today's world is tough.

Museum London Exhibit Recalls The City's Colourful, Handpainted Past | CBC...

Headlines:

From large-scale billboards to vinyl cut lettering to backlit banners, signs are part of today's urban landscape in London — and signs from days gone by tell a story of the city's rich history.

To prove that, a new exhibit at Museum London called London Recalling: Traces of Places from the City's Past highlights storied signs from family-run businesses, shops and galleries that have called the city home.

⁘Today we have things like vinyl cut, we have letterpress, we have all sorts of technology that makes the signs. We have LED signs,⁘ said Amber Lloydlangston, Museum London's curator of regional history and contemporary culture.

The exhibit features signs — big and small — from the museum's collection. Most of them are handpainted on wood, while other are made of tin, Lloydlangston said, looking worn and weathered from being outside.

⁘It really is quite incredible,⁘ she said. ⁘They're very dramatic, very colourful and really draw your eye up.⁘

Sign painting was once a line of work, and is growing in popularity again today, she said. ⁘People are recognizing the beauty of the hand lettered sign. And so you can come and be inspired by some that we have here.⁘

One bold red and yellow painted sign featured is from the 20/20 Gallery, an artist-run centre that existed from 1966 to 1970 in London.

The gallery was established by the founding members of the London Regionalists, such as artists Greg Curnoe, Tony Urquhart and Jack Chambers.

⁘The young folks who were establishing it were trying to find their way and they weren't necessarily getting the attention and some of the major galleries that they had hoped for. So, they weren't getting the shows, they weren't getting the recognition. So they said, 'Fine, we'll establish our own.'⁘

ITV Coronation Street Star 'Gutted' By Helen Worth's Exit As Final Storyline 'Revealed' - Mirror...

A few weeks back, it was confirmed that Helen will be departing her role as Gail Platt after 50 years on the Cobbles. Bosses have confirmed Helen will start filming her exit story soon and they will air at the end of the year.

Speaking at the time, Helen shared: ⁘This year felt like the perfect time to leave the show after celebrating 50 years in the most wonderful job on the most wonderful street in the world .

Now Paddy - who plays Max - has opened up about Gail's exit from the soap. Speaking exclusively to The Mirror and other press, he said: ⁘I think Helen is the kindest soul. I think she has a radical kindness about her; she's one of the loveliest people I've ever met and she makes me feel calm and safe.

He added: ⁘The words 'legend' and 'icon' get used a lot these days but they genuinely do apply to Gail and to Helen Worth. However, given her humility, I know Helen won't thank me for saying so!

⁘In Helen's hands, Gail has been a huge part of Coronation Street for five decades and at the centre of some of the most memorable storylines - often deriving from her catastrophically bad luck in choosing husbands! ... Gail has given us countless hours of entertainment but it should also be said that Helen herself is a consummate professional and a thoroughly good egg.⁘

Whether you're a plain ham and cheese kind of persn, or like to get adventurous with a tuna crunch, the meal deal has become as quintessentially British as a cup of tea. They're ideal for commuters, or those busying around doing errands for the day - and have always been a pretty good steal if you selected your drink, sandwich, and snack wisely (£3 Naked smoothies, we're looking at you).

In fact, shoppers were so upset by the price spike that one person nearly 'cried' over the ordeal. ⁘The country is past the point of any repair. The Sainsbury's meal deal has gone up to £3.75,⁘ complained another X (formerly Twitter ) user. A third raged on: ⁘Just when I thought Monday's couldn't get any worse, I've just realised Sainsbury's meal deals are now £3.75.⁘ While a fourth urged new Prime Minister Keir Starmer to 'sort it out'. Others branded the up-charge a 'complete abomination'.

A spokesperson for the supermarket said: ⁘We want to make good food affordable and accessible to everyone and so we have kept the price of our meal deal the same for over three years. We continue to offer one of the best value meal deals around, with millions of delicious possible combinations which could mean customers save more than half off the usual price, whether they're grabbing a hot bacon roll, a fruit pot and a coffee for breakfast, or a lunchtime sarnie with crisps and a smoothie.⁘

EMMERDALE fans were left fuming after seeing Kim Tate back down from an argument with Rose in an uncharacteristic move.

After hearing about Kim's proposal, Dawn was indignant, and decided to invite Rose to stay in their family home as an apology.

Suki Waterhouse And Robert Pattinson's Post-Baby Slim Down: ‘Everyone Has Noticed How Fit They Both...

Image More details: See here

The new parents, who welcomed their first baby together in March 2024, are determined to whip themselves into tip-top shape this summer.

"Their dedication is certainly paying off, everyone has noticed how fit they both look," an insider says of the Twilight star, 38, and the singer, 32, who revealed during an April 12 Coachella performance that she gave birth to a baby girl.

"Suki just had her baby three months ago, and she's already performed with her band at Coachella, so she certainly hasn't been sitting home and laying in bed," the source explains. "She's always been very disciplined, and that seems to have only increased since she became a mom."

The "Good Looking" singer, who has previously spoken about her love of boxing and Barre class, is getting back to the grind after giving birth.

Her recent focus on health and fitness has also inspired Rob, whom she first started dating in 2018. "Rob has never been into working out but even he's hitting the gym alongside her and doing these crazy long hikes with her because she doesn't like going alone," says the insider.

"Of course, Suki tries to downplay it," the source says. "She doesn't want people to think she's obsessed with dropping the baby weight, but the reality is her job for the most part does depend on how she looks so it really isn't something she can just let slide and expect to get work."

UK Retail Sales Fall By More Than Expected In June, ONS Says - SWI Swissinfo.Ch

LONDON (Reuters) ⁘ British retail sales volumes fell by more than expected in June, dropping by 1.2% after a 2.9% jump in May, the Office for National Statistics said on Friday.

Over the 12 months to June 2024, volumes fell by 0.2% and were 1.3% below their pre-pandemic level in February 2020, the ONS said.

I've Ditched Charity Shops As It's Cheaper At Primark - I Even Found A Boohoo Dress Being Sold For MORE Than It Was New...

Image More details: Found here

CHARITY shops are traditionally a way to pick up donated items for a fraction of their original price.

But some shoppers say they are turning their backs on buying pre-owned charity clothes as they claim they are "ridiculously expensive" and say it's cheaper to shop at Primark.

It comes as Gen-Z shoppers are increasingly favouring second hand sites like Depop and Vinted, along with car boot sales, to snap up purse-friendly outfits.

A number of young shoppers have taken to social media to complain about the expensive prices at charity shops.

Anna, who posts under @thecharityshopqueen, has uploaded a number of videos in charity shops calling out their "audacious pricing."

She was also unimpressed at some orange heeled sandals for £14 that were £25 when bought new, and she added: "I'd rather pay that and not have had someone's smelly feet in them."

In another video, she was amazed when a charity shop said they didn't sell anything for under £8, even H⁘M items.

Bargain hunter Hope Bailey called out shops in Manchester saying: "Why are charity shops going so expensive?"

Meanwhile influencer Lilly Whitfield, who lives in London, said: "Somebody tell me why charity shops are becoming so expensive.

Moved To The UK From Nigeria: Job Market Too Competitive, Rejections

This as-told-to essay is based on a transcribed conversation with Jerry Chiemeke, a writer from London, about moving to the UK from Nigeria. Business Insider has verified his visa with documentation. The following has been edited for length and clarity.

Muhammadu Buhari became president in 2015. Under his leadership, there was national concern over human rights violations and an economic downturn. Our currency was impacted, and my friends started leaving, looking for better career opportunities in countries like the US, Canada, and the UK.

In Nigeria, I worked in law and media communications and also pursued writing. I reviewed books, wrote essays, and published poetry as a side venture, and also published a collection of short stories in 2020.

I wanted to be known as a writer, but I was unsure whether I should continue developing my career in Nigeria.

I began planning to leave the country. Many young people became disillusioned after taking part in protests that culminated in a massacre. I didn't want to live in a country that I felt actively tried to eliminate its youth.

I eventually moved to the UK in 2022 on a Global Talent visa . I wanted to continue building my career as a creative, but I've since found it difficult to find permanent work.

The UK is linked to Nigeria through the Commonwealth, and there's a large Nigerian community here. I felt there were spaces where I would belong. I'd seen other Nigerian writers do well in the UK too.

I was accepted into some master's programs at British universities in 2021, but ultimately, the tuition fees and financial costs made it a more stressful option in the long term.

One of my friends suggested the Global Talent visa for skilled people in the academic, tech, and arts fields. It seemed like a good option with a viable pathway to getting indefinite leave to remain, where you can live and work in the UK as long as you like, and the opportunity for my creative work to be rewarded in the UK.
