On Friday's episode, Lauren lied to DS Swain, pretending it was Nathan but she wanted to drop charges. Later, Joel paid for a hotel for Lauren to stay in but soon had bad news. Joel revealed that his ex-wife Emily wanted half of his money in the divorce and her lawyers were making him submit bank statements for the last 12 months. Joel pointed out he couldn't have anything dodgy on record and took Lauren to a flat, saying she could stay at the empty property until arranging travel to Ireland for her.
On Monday night, Joel was left concerned as he learnt Dee-Dee's family wanted to help him move a chest of drawers from his old flat, where he's hiding Lauren. In a bid to get Lauren out the flat, Joel handed her a wad of cash to go shopping. However, the solicitor was left panicked when Lauren didn't return and instead came back to the flat much later than planned, leaving him furious.
