On Monday (March 11), he paid some of his debts and hopes the sale of his house will clear the rest. Jacquille Jarrett, who works for HMRC, said they are giving Bill 12 more weeks, until June 10, to pay what he owes.
The courts didn't say how much he has to pay now, but did confirm last month that it was £546,000 in tax. Bill Roache wasn't at the court but people have claimed that he earns about £250,000 a year from working at ITV.
An insider source told The Sun that Helen coming to Weatherfield will be good for Bill Roache. They said: "Despite being Weatherfield's oldest resident Ken still has an eye for the ladies and his character is very charming."
