The ITV schedule has undergone a shake-up, leaving fans of Coronation Street dismayed. The soap, a staple of British television, has been moved from its usual time slot, with some episodes airing as early as 7am on ITVX and YouTube. However, this week, the schedule has been altered once again, with the soap being replaced by --- coverage of the Six Nations on Thursday, February 5. The new scheduling pattern, launched in January 2026, sees Coronation Street air every evening from Monday to Friday, with 30-minute episodes at 8:30pm, following Emmerdale at 8pm. However, with the influx of sports coverage, including Arsenal's Carabao Cup semi-final second leg victory over Chelsea on Tuesday, February 3, fans have been left frustrated. Many have taken to social media to express their disappointment, with one fan writing, "I remember the times we used to get episodes moved to other times because of the football (even last year), but now it seems like the new standard is simply no episode at all on the football / sports days."
