BBC Documentary Explores The Dark World Of Misogyny Through EastEnders Lens

The BBC has taken a bold step in tackling the pervasive issue of misogyny, particularly in the context of online communities. EastEnders Investigates: The Manosphere, a documentary fronted by Diane Parish, Max Murray, and Ellie Dadd, explores the dark world of misogyny and its far-reaching consequences. This 30-minute documentary, produced by BBC Studios for BBC Three, brings together the cast of the long-running soap opera EastEnders to delve into the complexities of misogyny.

The cast members, known for their roles as Denise Fox, Joel Marshall, and Amy Mitchell, will meet individuals whose ___s have been severely impacted by misogyny and encounter those working tirelessly to challenge the narrative. The documentary's release coincides with Joel's escalating misogyny storyline in EastEnders, which is set to air on Thursday, 9 October, on BBC iPlayer at 6 am and BBC Three at 8 pm.

Commissioned by BBC Three Head of Content Nasfim Haque, Digital Commissioning Executive for BBC Drama & BBC Film, Milly Chu, and BBC Commissioning Editor, Danielle Scott-Haughton, this project underscores the BBC's commitment to addressing critical social issues.
