In a recent development, six individuals have appeared in a UK court, charged in connection with their alleged involvement with the banned group, Palestine Action. The defendants, comprising three men and three women, are accused of organising and addressing meetings in support of the proscribed organisation. According to Reuters via Yahoo News, the six defendants - Tim Crosland, 55, David Nixon, 39, Dawn Manners, 61, Gwen Harrison, 48, Melanie Griffith, 62, and Patrick Friend, 26 - face numerous counts of arranging or addressing meetings in support of Palestine Action. Throughout the hearing at London's Old Bailey court, the defendants displayed their unwavering support for the group.
Notably, Nixon stood with his eyes closed, holding a small notice that read, "I oppose genocide, I support Palestine Action." Palestine Action, which had been actively protesting against Israel-linked companies in Britain, was proscribed shortly after some of its members broke into the RAF Brize Norton air base and damaged two planes in June. Four members have been charged in connection with this incident.
The co-founder of Palestine Action is currently contesting the ban in a legal challenge.
