Tom Cunningham could feature in a major and unexpected Hollyoaks twist with villain Clare Devine, one star has teased.

Recent scenes have shown Tom return to the Channel 4 soap, and unexpectedly he is in prison.

He happens to be locked up with Clare's half-brother Rex Gallagher.

This didn't happen and in the end Rex and Tom have somewhat bonded, discussing their links to the village. Rex's initial plan to target Tom was forgotten, but could Tom end up helping Clare in a twist no one would see coming?

Actor Ellis told us that when he first found out the details surrounding his comeback, he thought Tom and Clare would possibly team up.

He wondered if the enemies could ⁘form a partnership⁘ and go down a completely different route this time.

But Ellis is banking on there being some sort of showdown for the pair, especially now Clare has proven she wants him out of the way. With Tom prepared to go against her, upcoming scenes will see him learn Rex doesn't agree with his sister's ways of dealing with things.
