EastEnders is set to disappear from our screens for the second week running, as the BBC confirms changes to its airing schedule.

This week's episodes have centred around beloved characters bidding farewell to the soap in heart-wrenching scenes.

Tuesday night (July 2) saw the departure of Clair Norris' Bernie Taylor and Matthew James Morrison's Felix Baker, marking their final appearances on Albert Square.

Bernie, a familiar face since 2017, and her best mate Felix, who arrived in 2022, made their exit to Spain after Bernie nicked a hefty sum from the Panesar family.

These departures come amidst a flurry of activity on the show, with Executive Producer Ben Wadey making his mark, reports the Manchester Evening News .

Typically, EastEnders graces our screens from Monday to Thursday each week on BBC One, with episodes available from 6am on iPlayer.

However, this week's schedule has been disrupted by the BBC's coverage of the annual Wimbledon tennis tournament.

The beloved soap aired in two double bills, resulting in no episodes being broadcast on Wednesday (July 3) or Thursday (July 4).
