British actress Miriam Margolyes, known for her role as Professor Pomona Sprout in the Harry Potter films , opened up about her health struggles. As per reports, she underwent a heart procedure in 2023.
However, in an interview with The Times, the actress revealed that she did not have much time left with her. According to the Mirror UK, she said:
Even though the procedure went well, she faced struggles with mobility as she developed spinal stenosis. Following her heart procedure, Miriam Margolyes sat down on the Table Manners podcast and shared that the procedure required the aortic valve to be replaced with one from a cow.
She said she hadn't heard of the operation before but was glad it helped her avoid open-heart surgery, which would have been much more intense. However, as a result of spinal stenosis, she almost became disabled and had to use wheelchairs and other walking aids.
Later, during an appearance on Loose Women , Miriam Margolyes said that she expected to need caregivers in the future and wanted to ensure they were well-paid. She also admitted that a major reason for taking on work was to earn money, as she was paid for those appearances.
