Jessica's popular character Nancy Osborne was recently forced to move out of the family home after being wrongly accused of pushing Frankie down the stairs . In reality, Frankie had fallen shortly after being attacked by her brother.
Speaking to Digital Spy on the red carpet at the Radio Times Soap Awards on Saturday evening (July 13), Jessica explained: ⁘We've obviously got the big JJ and Frankie story happening, which is so hard-hitting.
⁘It's a really strong storyline. I think it's one of the hardest-hitting stories any soap has ever done. Both Isabelle [Smith, who plays Frankie] and Ryan [Mulvey, who plays JJ] have smashed it – what a find for Hollyoaks .
⁘In some ways [that's] more interesting, because how do you as a family deal with that, react to that and then move forward in whatever way? So that's going to be coming up.⁘
Asked whether Frankie will receive the support she needs from the Osbornes, Jessica replied: ⁘I think each family member will have their own reaction to it and their own way of dealing with it.⁘
Digital Spy understands that JJ's crimes will be exposed in the coming weeks, as show bosses were keen to resolve the storyline before the autumn time jump .
Hollyoaks will shift its plots forward by 12 months in September, partly to explain major cast changes taking place when the show cuts back from five to three weekly episodes .
