Everyone In London Is Wearing This Boho Outfit Formula

Have you ever walked into the office or entered a social setting with friends only to realise that, by some strange sartorial osmosis, you are all wearing the same outfit? Well, apparently this phenomenon can also happen on a geographical level, as this season, we have noticed that a particular ensemble seems to be taking over the streets of London.

It all started last week – one of the first balmy days of the year – when myself and my colleague Alice were working at a cafe in east London. The longer we sat there, the more we noticed a theme developing in the fashion choices of the stylish twenty-somethings that walked past us. It was not only a particular item that drew our attention – although a white boho skirt seemed to be the hero piece – it was the specificity of the pairing: a floaty mid-length skirt styled with an oversized outer layer, a T-shirt or a tank top and flat shoes.

There were various interpretations within this framework. The flat shoes came in the form of Adidas sneakers , Birkenstock clogs and buckled biker boots, while the outerwear pivoted around androgynous silhouettes, such as leather bikers, zip-up hoodies and barn jackets. We can see why it's the perfect outfit formula for spring: it's boho without being basic, it has just the right touch of sporty appeal and, most importantly, it's easy and comfortable to wear.

It is also worth nothing that OG boho It-girl Sienna Miller rocked a similar look to the Chloé show back in March, and if Sienna says it's cool, then who are we to argue?
