Rejoice! Prepare For The AllSaints Swishy Skirt Comeback

It's unsurprising that after test driving skinny jeans , I've been ruminating on the pieces from my teenage past that deserve a second run. One such silhouette – the swishy multilayered boho skirt – which gained momentum on the autumn/winter 2024 catwalks thanks to Chemena Kamali's debut for ChloĆ© (and a certain Sienna Miller sat on the frow), has also piqued my interest. Back in the early Aughts, I favoured a white Lipsy iteration, tiered and edged with lace, and picked up at The Clothes Show, which I wore with a diamante-studded See by ChloĆ© strap top I nabbed in TK Maxx for £7 (and still own today) or tri-colour Hooch halterneck. But the real skirt I was after came courtesy of purveyors of dark romance AllSaints. The "Hitch" was crafted from mille-feuille pleats of candyfloss-pink or petrol-blue cotton, and floated by on the waistlines of girls in sixth form in the lunch hall, as I tucked into a sausage roll and beans, still in school uniform.
