Computer Hackers Broke Into City Of London IT Systems Five Times In Just 4 Years, Data Reveals - Mirror...

Tristan Wilkinson of public sector skills consultancy AND Digital added: "The sharp rise in cyber attacks against MPs and councils is a reminder of the very real risks facing our elected officials. It's critical that public institutions are properly protected with the latest security capabilities and digital skills to keep hackers at bay."

A spokesperson for the City of London Corporation said: "We have robust cyber security controls in place and our systems are safe and secure. Our IT security incorporates advice and guidance from the National Cyber Security Centre and National Police Chiefs' Council, including third party assurances where data handling is taking place on behalf of the City Corporation. No attacks have been reported against our systems. But in the event of any third-party data breach we conduct a thorough investigation, undertake a risk assessment, and will notify and work with the regulator, and the Information Commissioner, if there is a material breach resulting in a risk to individuals."
