First it was the viral fashion sneaker, then came the chunky lug-sole boot. Birkenstocks were next in line, via a brief detour into velcro sandal territory. Fashion's obsession with the flat shoe has remained undimmed over the last decade, and if the spring/summer 2024 runways are anything to go by, it shows no sign of fading.
Don't just take our word for it: point-toe pumps appeared on the runways of everyone from Gabriela Hearst – paired with a sleek silver midi-dress – to Fashion East's Johanna Parv – accompanied by sporty monochrome separates. Even fashion darling, Gigi Hadid, has got in on the action, styling a black leather jacket and tailored trousers with a pair of black point-toe pumps. It was smart-casual dressing at its finest.
