Edinburgh most expensive place to rent in UK outside London

It costs almost £900 a month on average for a room in the Scottish capital, nearly twice as much as in the English port of South Shields, Britain's cheapest town.

Figures from SpareRoom, Britain's biggest flatshare site, show that Edinburgh was pricier even than some of London's plusher suburbs.
