Waitrose has slashed the price of more than 200 products in an effort to compete with rival supermarkets and lure shoppers hunting for cheaper food amid soaring prices.
The upmarket grocer has invested £100million in lowering the price of everyday staples like bread, butter and beef mince, as well as picnic and barbecue favourites like cocktail sausages and ice cream.
