New Order announces tour of U.K., Europe with dates in London, Paris, Amsterdam

New Order , which recently played a handful of U.S. dates around an appearance at the South By Southwest Music Festival, today announced a short tour of the U.K. and Europe, with seven concerts planned for September and October.

The band — Bernard Sumner, Stephen Morris, Gillian Gilbert, Phil Cunningham and Tom Chapman — will play shows in Copenhagen, Amsterdam, Paris, London, Dublin, Glasgow and Leeds.

UK economy stagnates in February as strikes and inflation bite

LONDON — The U.K. economy flatlined in February as widespread industrial action and persistently high inflation stymied activity.

Data on Thursday showed a steady GDP in February, missing consensus expectations of 0.1% growth. Both the services and production sectors contracted, partly offset by a record 2.4% expansion in construction.
