"The reason I left Emmerdale is that I started embarking on my business, so it was kind of a decision which wasn't taken lightly because I absolutely loved the job," he commented.

"You will probably remember at the time there was some controversy because Russell T Davies said that he had cast all queer actors," Mathew began as he discussed his role in It's A Sin.
