EastEnders fans have said the soap is 'getting better', but one character needs to return. This comes after viewers' complaints regarding the show's writing and storylines.

One fan said: "Hello all hope you are enjoying your week, I have come back from my holiday have caught up with last week of EastEnders, it's getting interesting/watchable again which is great to see. Characters seem to be used better and there seems to be a bit more momentum behind the show."

EastEnders actor Jamie Borthwick left court beaming today after a judge reduced his six-month driving ban to two. The 27-year-old, who has played Jay Brown in the BBC soap for the last 15 years, is having to pay for alternative transport to take him to the BBC studios.

Ms Owen added: "Mr Borthwick is working at the moment. He is currently paying for himself to arrange transport to and from work at a considerable cost to himself.
