BBC EastEnders reveals first sneak peek at brand new £87m Albert Square set - MyLondon

Following refurbishment delays, the BBC ended up splurging £86.7million on the upgraded Albert Square set - £27million over the original budget, according to the National Audit Office's 2018 forecast.

But, on Tuesday, filming commenced on the revamped set, including in the famous Queen Vic, with scenes set to air in Spring 2022, reports PA Media.

BBC EastEnders: Danny Dyer breaks silence on exit and addresses rumours he fell out with cast -

Danny Dyer has confirmed he will depart from EastEnders at some point this year, and even admitted quitting the show has been on his mind for "a while".

The actor, 44, has played the Queen Vic's landlord Mick Carter for the last nine years and will be moving on to star in a drama series with rival broadcaster Sky.

BBC EastEnders viewers all saying the same thing after explosive showdown between Aaron and Neil

Tonight's episode (January 11) saw Neil confront Aaron in his family home - throwing him against the wall and accusing him of being a grass after police found out about the gang's radical bombing plot which targeted the town's mosque.

A bewildered and terrified dad Harvey wanted to call the police, but Aaron warned that this would only make matters worse in Albert Square.

EastEnders actor Charlie Wernham's forgotten Inbetweeners role you probably never realised -

The judges at the time, Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden and Piers Morgan, were left in stitches by Charlie's cheeky jokes.

All three judges voted him through, with the youngster eventually making it to the semi-finals, where his journey ended.

'I watched EastEnders for the first time and it basically Shakespeare rewritten for 2022' -

I remember when my West Country primary school made us play the EastEnders theme tune in assembly. We were so far from the Eastend of London yet the iconic soap still had a grip on us.

When I moved to East London and people started telling me I was now an 'EastEnder,' I realised I had to see what it was all about. Boy, was I in for a ride.
